◆ These holly water wall bowls were ordered to the catholic liturgy for home use. It is a very rare shape and was manufactured only in the first quarter of the 18th century. A similar form decorated in under-glaze cobalt blue (qinghua) with the IHS monogram from the Jesuit Order, dating from 1710, Kangxi reign, is known to exist.
